According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the total value of agricultural, forestry and fishery exports in the first five months of the year reached $ 13.7 billion, up 9.5% over the same period in 2016. Of which, seafood was estimated at $ 2.8 billion, Increased by 10.4% .

Most of the commodities have volume and export value in the first five months of the year increased over the same period in 2016. Specifically, the export volume of rice is estimated at 2.3 million metric tons and $ 1 billion USD (up 1.6% in volume and 1.2% in total value). Coffee exports are estimated at 693,000 metric tons and 1.57 billion USD (down 15.9% in volume but up 11% in value terms), while rubber exports reached 353,000 metric tons and $ 708 million USD (down 1.5% in volume but up 61.5% in value).
For seafood, the export value in May was estimated at $ 618 million USD, bringing the volume of fishery exports in the first 5 months to be estimated at $ 2.8 billion USD, up 10.4% over the same period in 2016. Also in May, estimated import value of aquatic products reached $ 87 million USD, bringing the value of seafood imports in the first 5 months of 2017 reached $ 508 million USD, up 28% over the same period in 2016.
